Official visit of the Fundación Princesa de Girona in Sant Martí Vell
The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation (NaEPF) was honored to welcome Fundación Princesa de Girona’s President Francisco Belill, Director General Salvador Tasque and Director of the Talent Tour Jordi Estruga in Sant Martí Vell.
Following the official visit, the Fundación Princesa de Girona shared the experience on their website:
“This non-profit organization supports initiatives in art and culture; education and social change. Sant Martí Vell is home to the Catalan branch of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation. This quiet town in the Gironès region was the refuge of jewelry designer Elsa Peretti. She lived here for long periods of time. She restored 18 houses and 3 farmhouses where you can appreciate the particular universe of the artist who revolutionized the world of jewelry by creating new forms and reintroducing sterling silver as a luxury material.
Elsa Peretti was a great philanthropist. Throughout her life she had one purpose: use her fortune to build a better world. For this reason, in 2000 she founded a foundation dedicated to the memory of her father Nando Peretti, a great Italian businessman. In 2015 the Foundation was renamed the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, adding Elsa’s name to that of her father perpetuating the great bond that united them.
The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation established the delegation in Catalonia in 2014 due to Peretti’s long effect on the territory she considered her home. The Catalan delegation has the same statutory mission as NaEPF and provides grants for initiatives in arts and culture; education and social change. It offers resources to projects that benefit local communities and also addresses issues of global relevance.
In line with NaEPF’s philanthropic mission, the Catalan delegation supports non-profit projects aimed at poverty reduction and social integration; the preservation of art and culture; education; and the empowerment of women and disadvantaged social groups. The vast majority of its grants are awarded to organizations and projects based in Catalonia.
The NaEPF is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation.”
