“Elsa Peretti & Halston: Beyond Design” is a short documentary supported by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation (NaEPF) and directed by Enrico Ianniello, exploring the enduring legacy between Elsa Peretti and fashion designer Halston.
Lesley Frowick, Halston’s niece, founder and director of the Halston Personal Archives and the With Love Halston Foundation, and Stefano Palumbo, Board Member of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, together with Peter Schwendinger and Kurt Moosmann, and one of Elsa Peretti’s closest collaborators for over twenty years, reunited in Sant Martí Vell, to discuss the friendship and artistic collaboration between Elsa Peretti and Halston over the years.
Starting from historical moments tracing their path such as the creation of the iconic teardrop shaped perfume bottle, their presence during the legendary Battle of Versailles and the origin of the Diamonds by the Yard design, to the present day with the partnership between the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation and the With Love Halston Foundation, awarding scholarships to young designers in memory of Elsa Peretti and Halston’s long-standing legacy.
The documentary also highlights an event held at Teatre Akadèmia in Barcelona, organised by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation – Delegació a Catalunya, to celebrate Elsa Peretti and Halston and their impact on the world of fashion and design. For the occasion, Lesley Frowick and Stefano Palumbo were joined on stage by Public relations expert, writer and journalist Carlos Martorell and Pilar Pasamontes, scientific director of the IED Barcelona Fashion Department.
