The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation – Delegació a Catalunya (NaEPF) is honored to be trustee of the Fundación Princesa de Girona from 2024.

The NaEPF shares the same commitment as the Fundación Princesa de Girona to support the younger generations with the aim of improving and promoting their professional and personal development, ensuring that they overcome the barriers encountered in their integration into society.

The Fundación Princesa de Girona was born in 2009, after the dramatic economical crisis, in a context in which the future of young people was threatened by the high drop-out rate and the low chances of finding a profession. In the last fifteen years, the Fundación Princesa de Girona has been offering solutions to these issues helping young people in their training and in searching for a new employment, taking all the necessary initiatives to enable young people to face a world that is constantly changing, where globalization and new technologies are the great challenges of the present and future generations. Granting scholarships to the most deserving and presenting them as references for others to form a community of talents has always been a focus of the Fundación Princesa de Girona, to promote social and human values.

The honorary presidency of the Board of Directors is held by H.R.H. the Princess of Asturias and Girona, Doña Leonor de Borbón y Ortiz. The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation – Delegació a Catalunya is represented as patron by Stefano Palumbo, member of the Board of the NaEPF.

The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation (NaEPF) was honored to welcome Fundación Princesa de Girona’s President Francisco Belill, Director General Salvador Tasque and Director of the Talent Tour Jordi Estruga in Sant Martí Vell.

Following the official visit, the Fundación Princesa de Girona shared the experience on their website:

“This non-profit organization supports initiatives in art and culture; education and social change. Sant Martí Vell is home to the Catalan branch of the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation. This quiet town in the Gironès region was the refuge of jewelry designer Elsa Peretti. She lived here for long periods of time. She restored 18 houses and 3 farmhouses where you can appreciate the particular universe of the artist who revolutionized the world of jewelry by creating new forms and reintroducing sterling silver as a luxury material.

Elsa Peretti was a great philanthropist. Throughout her life she had one purpose: use her fortune to build a better world. For this reason, in 2000 she founded a foundation dedicated to the memory of her father Nando Peretti, a great Italian businessman. In 2015 the Foundation was renamed the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation, adding Elsa’s name to that of her father perpetuating the great bond that united them.

The Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation established the delegation in Catalonia in 2014 due to Peretti’s long effect on the territory she considered her home. The Catalan delegation has the same statutory mission as NaEPF and provides grants for initiatives in arts and culture; education and social change. It offers resources to projects that benefit local communities and also addresses issues of global relevance.

In line with NaEPF’s philanthropic mission, the Catalan delegation supports non-profit projects aimed at poverty reduction and social integration; the preservation of art and culture; education; and the empowerment of women and disadvantaged social groups. The vast majority of its grants are awarded to organizations and projects based in Catalonia.

The NaEPF is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation.”
